Business Loan
Documents Required for a Business Loan
11 August 2026 · 4 min read
Most business loan delays are documentation delays. Assembling a complete, internally consistent file before submission is the cheapest way to speed up a sanction.
Common to all entity types
- ✓PAN and Aadhaar of promoters
- ✓Address proof for the business premises
- ✓Bank statements for the last 12 months in PDF, not scans
- ✓GST returns for the last 12 months
- ✓ITR with computation for the last two years
Additional documents by entity
- ✓Proprietorship: Udyam or Shop & Establishment certificate
- ✓Partnership: partnership deed and firm PAN
- ✓Private limited: Certificate of Incorporation, MOA and AOA, board resolution, shareholding pattern
- ✓Audited financials where turnover crosses the audit threshold
Where files typically get stuck
Bank statements submitted as images rather than lender-readable PDFs, which fail automated analysis.
GST turnover that does not reconcile with bank credits, with no explanation attached.
An unexplained large credit in the statement — usually a personal transfer — that credit teams read as inflated turnover.
Missing NOCs for loans shown as closed on the credit report but still open in bureau records.
